Initially developed by John Garand in the 1920s, the M1 Garand rifle (U.S. Rifle Cal. .30 M1) was adopted by the U.S. military in the 1930s and served as the primary infantry rifle during World War II and Korea. A proven workhorse in the field, the semi-automatic, en bloc clip fed, gas-operated rifle also impresses with its accuracy. Over the course of history, the M1 Garand saw action across the globe and was used by military forces of many nations. Eventually replaced by the M14 in 1958, the M1 is still revered by both collectors and shooters as well as the many veterans who carried them during their service.
