Refurbished Quality Hardware and Machine Co. M1 carbine (U.S. Carbine Cal. .30, M1). Q.H.M.C. was a prime contractor for the M1 carbine during the war; the SN dates to manufacture in June of 1943.
This Quality Hardware and Machine Co. carbine has a milled, adjustable rear sight; round bolt; T4 front band (marked with an encircled ‘A’) with bayonet lug; late M2 type stock; four rivet handguard; swivel safety (marked with an encircled roman numeral ‘II’ with a serif crossing to the right on top and left on bottom); and push button magazine release (marked ‘M’). The Type III trigger housing is refinished, has a very light Inland stamp, detachable spring housing, curved side cut, grooved magazine well rear wall, and Type III hammer (marked H.I.). Markings on the magazine are found on the back (‘AI’) and bottom (‘K’). Barrel and stock are both unmarked.
Overall condition is very good. The receiver is refinished with handling wear around the slide – as does the bolt and magazine. The wood stock has a chip near the tag and behind the trigger housing. The action works as intended and is smooth and strong. The bore is clean and bright with well-defined rifling throughout. Comes with the sling and oiler.
Here’s a great opportunity to obtain a solid Quality Hardware and Machine Co. M1 carbine to shoot without worrying scuffing a collector grade arm. See pictures for overall condition. FFL or C&R required for purchase.
