For Sale: Browning Model 1886 Lever-Action Rifle w/box

Browning Model 1886 Grade I Limited Edition as new in the box. The Grade I Limited Editions were based on the Winchester Model 1886 and manufactured in Japan for one year, 1986, only, with a total production of 7000 rifles. All are in .45-70 GOV’T. This Model 1886 appears to have never been fired as it still retains the factory protective coating. Because of its original condition we have elected not to clean the arm. The dust you see in the pictures is from the box and packaging and smudging is related to the original, now stiffened, protective coating.

Features include an overall blue metal finish, blade front sight with bead, semi-buckhorn rear sight, 26-inch octagon barrel, and metal crescent butt plate. Stock and forearm are plain walnut with a beautiful grain pattern. The magazine is a full-length tubular magazine with 8-shot capacity. The barrel, left side, is marked ‘BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q./MADE IN JAPAN’ forward of the rear sight. ‘BROWNING MODEL 1886 CALIBER .45-70 GOV’T’ is marked on the right side of the barrel forward of the rear sight. The Nitro Proof mark ‘NP’ is found on the right side of the barrel just forward of the receiver. The upper tang is marked ‘BROWNING MODEL 1886’ and the serial number is stamped on the receiver, right side above the lever hinge.

Overall condition is like new with no handling marks on the wood or metal. Bore is like new. Comes with the original matching box that is in excellent structural condition with some storage wear. The sticker on the box end has faded but still legibly shows matching SN as well as model and caliber information. The Styrofoam insert is in excellent shape, including the Styrofoam lid. Also comes with the original manual. This Browning Model 1886 rifle is ideal for any Browning collection!
