Ruger Mark I Target pistol in .22 L.R., semi-auto, manufactured in 1973. These pistols are similar to Ruger’s original .22 caliber pistol, the Standard Model, in design and function. The Mark I, first introduced in 1950, differed from the Standard by featuring adjustable rear sights, undercut front sight to reduce glare, and a longer barrel. A short, barreled version was available for a limited period (1952-57) and a 5-½ inch bull barreled version became available in 1963. The accuracy, reliability, and economic price quickly made the Mark I line a popular pistol in the market.

The Ruger Mark I Target pistol seen here features the standard cylindrical bolt, target sights, serrated trigger with adjustable stop, 5 ½ inch heavy bull barrel, blue finish with chrome trigger, hard black grips with silver Phoenix medallion on the right grip, 9-round magazine. ‘RUGER’ ’22 CAL. LONG RIFLE/AUTOMATIC PISTOL’ ‘MARK I’ adorns the right side of the frame, while the left carries the serial number in front of the ejection port and ‘STURM, RUGER & CO., INC./SOUTHPORT, CONN. U.S.A.’ to the rear of the port. ‘A-100’ is found stamped under the left grip which denotes the grip frame redesign of 1971 . ‘A-8L’ and ‘A-8R’ are marked on the underside of the grips.

Retaining a very nice overall appearance, small handling marks in the finish from use are found throughout. The grips are in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. The bolt slides freely with strong springs bringing it back into battery. The bore is very good with strong rifling. The magazine is unmarked, shows minor wear, and has chrome baseplate. Comes with an extra magazine.
