For Sale: Walther P 38 Pistol, 9mm w/box

Walther P 38 pistol manufactured in West-Germany in 1968 and imported by Interarms. This post-war version of the military semi-auto pistol is chambered in 9mm Parabellum with polished (poliert) blue finish, blade front and notched rear sights, plastic checkered grips, 5-inch barrel, 8-round magazine, side mounted lanyard ring, and European style bottom magazine catch.

Marked with a German eagle/N proof on the barrel, trigger guard (front, left side), and slide (right side). The left face of the slide is stamped with the Walther banner followed by ‘Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do’ over ‘P 38 Cal. 9mm). The ‘S’ (safe) and ‘F’ (fire) safety letters are painted white and red, respectively. An open star is stamped on the barrel retaining latch. On the left side of the frame, above the trigger guard is the serial number and on the guard itself, above the eagle/n proof is stamped ‘68’ followed by the Ulm proofing house antler. Circle-dot military stamps are seen above the trigger on the frame, right side, and on the barrel near the eagle/N proof. On the right face of the slide ‘Distributed by [star burst logo] INTERARMS/Alexandria|Virg. USA’ is stamped. The frame, right side, is marked ‘Made in West-Germany’ above the trigger guard. Both magazines are stamped on the bottom left side with the Walther banner above a circle-dot military marking and ‘P 38 9mm’.

The finish is in outstanding condition, with no wear and only a few light handling marks. The plastic grips are uncracked and in good condition with the right grip showing some minor wear. Both magazines show handling wear. The bore is like new and is clean, bright with excellent rifling.

Includes the box, two magazines, and cleaning rod as shown. The original and matching box is structurally sound with storage wear and discoloration from exposure to water (the box and pistol were stored separately and there is no moisture damage to the pistol). The cleaning rod is unmarked and has some minor, scattered freckling. This is a fantastic looking piece that needs to be added to your collection!
