The Smith and Wesson Model 52-2, the .38 Master, semi-auto pistol is the final improvement in the model 52 line that debuted in 1961. The earlier 52/52-1 editions utilized an extractor that had strong potential to fail. The 52-2 switched out that extractor for a stronger and more simple hooked version that is tensioned by a coil spring. All 52-1 (1963-70) and 52-2 (1971-93) pistols are single-action and chambered for the .38 S&W Special Wadcutter, a reliable flush-seated target round.

Manufactured ca. 1974-75, the Smith and Wesson Model 52-2 pistol for sale here includes a five-inch barrel, Partridge front and adjustable rear sights, serrated trigger with adjustable stop, serrated hammer, and checkered walnut grips with S&W medallions.

The overall condition is very good with a bright blue finish that has minor holster wear along the frame bottom near the muzzle. Handling marks are present on the grips and slight shooting wear is present at the barrel caliber markings. The bore is very good and bright with strong rifling. The included original box has packing tape over the top and the original label has peeled. The model number is clear on the label and just enough of the serial number is visible to verify the box matches the pistol. Comes with paperwork, cleaning kit (still sealed), and two extra 5-round magazines as shown.  All magazine are stamped ‘S&W’ on the base and ’38 SECIAL/WADCUTTER’/S&W medallion stamp on the left side.
