The Ruger Super Blackhawk revolver is a single-action revolver chambered in .44 Magnum that was manufactured from 1959 to 1972. Features include a 6-shot unfluted cylinder, square back triggerguard, adjustable rear sight, ramp-style front blade sight, walnut grips with silver medallions containing a black phoenix, hammer finished in the white, 7 ½-inch barrel, and blue finish.
Markings include ‘RUGER SUPER BLACKHAWK/.44 MAGNUM CAL.’ on the left side of the frame with the serial number on the right side. The left side of the barrel is marked ‘STURM, RUGER & CO., INC./SOUTHPORT, CONN. U.S.A.’. The front face of the cylinder is marked ‘S’ while the rear face is unmarked.
This Ruger Super Blackhawk, manufactured in 1960, is in very good overall condition with some scattered light handling marks and very faint drag line on the cylinder that is difficult to see. Both phoenixes on the grip medallions have lost some of the black color, revealing the underlying silver background color. The bore is excellent and is clean and bright with sharp rifling. The action is crisp and functions flawlessly.
The original Super Blackhawk box is in good structural condition with some storage wear. The surface is wrinkled with some color loss and one corner is dogeared. A matching serial number is hand written next to the model and manufacturer label.
An excellent example of a Ruger Super Blackhawk revolver that can fill a spot in a Ruger collection and be used on the range.
