Essex Arms 1911A1 in .45 ACP with Colt slide. Essex Arms produced 1911A1 frames and slides during the 1970s in Pond Island, VT (later moving to Hardwick, VT in the 1990s). They did not make complete pistols but rather sold frames to gunsmiths and custom shops who assembled complete pistols from various parts, including surplus Colt parts, for sale to consumers. The Essex 1911A1 here is in good condition with some finish wear and a great bore. An excellent entry point into the 1911A1 shooting world.
