Essex Arms 1911A1 in .45 ACP in good condition. Essex Arms produced 1911A1 frames and slides during the 1970s in Pond Island, VT (later moving to Hartwick, VT in the 1990s). They did not make complete pistols but rather sold frames to gunsmiths and custom shops who assembled complete pistols from various parts, including surplus Colt parts, for sale to consumers. The slide is marked ‘53397’ on the right side and ‘7790314’ on the left with no manufacturer name. The Essex 1911A1 here is in good condition with some finish wear and a great bore. An excellent entry point into the 1911A1 shooting world.
