This is a Ross MK II sporter rifle that has been modified in the style of the Model 1905 E Sporter rifle. The stock, sights, and straight pull, bolt action all remain in original military configuration. The barrel has been shortened to 22 inches and the checkering on the wrist is amateur grade. No serial numbers could be found. These characteristics lead us to believe that the rifle is not a true, factory produced Model 1905 Sporter.
Overall, the condition of this Ross MK II sporter rifle is very good. The straight pull bolt action works as intended and is smooth and crisp. Some handling marks are present. The stock retains unit marks. The bore is clean, semi-bright and has defined rifling with some erosion present. Chambered for .303 British with no caliber markings. No import marks. This is an excellent rifle for the range or field.
